Cross Country Tuesday 23 June 2020

Yesterday we held our Annual Cross Country in camp. It was a wonderful day, the sun shone, it was dry & warm. Thank you to all the many whanau that came along to watch our students, to encourage and to support them. As usual we had a few willing parents run with their children, it is so great to see this level of support, thanks you. I don't think you will see very many other school's Cross Country events with parents going to such lengths to encourage children. It was awesome to see all the effort the children put in, they certainly did their very best. I am sure some put 110% effort into to the race. Congratulations to you all. Steph took lots of photos for us. They certainly show how much

Board of Trustees News

Board of Trustees News At our most recent Board of Trustees meeting we reluctantly accepted the resignation from the board of Carey Talauta. Carey joined the Board in 2015 and contributed in many ways right from the start. Carey thinks deeply about the education we are providing our students. He asks interesting questions and he offered thoughtful suggestions and insights. He helped the board understand the way in which Defence operations impacted on staff and families. A particular passion of his, while on the board, focused on helping families make the most of the opportunity they had to support children with their learning. He was very keen for mums and dads to understand their role i

Unwell Children

Unwell Children It is very important that anyone who is sick stays at home to prevent the spreading of illnesses. If your child has a runny nose, sore throat, coughing, temperature, chills OR ache & pains home in the warm is the best place for them. They will recover much quicker and will keep their illness to themselves. If you do send you child to school when they are coughing, have a sore throat , are feeling unwell you will be called and asked to take them home. The Ministry of Health are advising if you have cold or flu symptoms you should stay home, and call your doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice. Please follow this advice. But if your child is away from school please co

We still want to have these days and have set out the following dates. Two of the days are scheduled next term and the third is in Term Four. Building Work

Kia ora Whanau Building Work Over the last six months or so there has been a lot of building work being completed here at school. Much of it is coming to its conclusion. Room 4 & 5 & 6 The work in this area has involved demolishing wall lining, new ceilings, new windows, new cloak bay areas, opening the space between Room 4 & 5 and creating four breakout spaces. The breakout spaces that already existed between Room 5 & 6 have been modernised and storage space have been built in along with glass doors. They are light and airy spaces, ideal for group work. Our old boiler house (which was at the end of Room 4) has been emptied and filled with gravel and concrete and has been converted into tw

School Shoes;

School Shoes; Shoes should be closed in winter shoes worn with Navy Blue socks or stockings. Sandals are not to be worn. Winter Shoes? Winter shoes are leather or leather look closed in shoes. Not canvas, hi-tops, sneakers or ballet flats. Canvas shoes are NOT uniform and should not be worn to school because; They get wet very easily, often on their way to school and then children have went cold feet all day. Ballet flats easily slip off and are dangerous when playing on the playground. Navy blue socks or stockings are the only colour to be worn. We are seeing loads of different coloured socks at school - white, orange, black, multi coloured. Please make sure your child has the correct unifo
