School Shoes In winter the School Uniform Shoes are black leather or leather-like ‘school shoes’ - they should be leather, closed in with laces or velcro or ‘Mary Jane’ style. These are worn with navy blue socks or tights. Uniform School Shoes are the only shoes that should be worn to school by students. We have an increasing number of incorrect shoes being worn. Students should NOT be wearing - Canvas shoes Sneakers or runners Black shoe with white or colours on them Sandals
Bike Helmets Recently some students have been seen on their bikes without bike helmets. As you know this is illegal but more importantly it is also not safe. It would be terrible if any of our students sustained a preventable head injury from falling off their bikes by accident. Please could you help us, by reinforcing the message about the importance of wearing bike helmets. Thank you for this.
Toys We have noticed an increasing number of toys coming to school. We actively discourage children from bringing toys of any kind to school. This is for the obvious reasons of damage or theft. We don’t want these precious things damaged or worse stolen. Sadly, both these things have happened. Last year a student had several of his tiny toy skateboards disappear from his school bag. This would not have happened if the toys stayed at home. Please do not allow your children
have had several queries about ordering school photos; We are waiting for Photolife to process the photos & print the proofs. I am expecting that within the few weeks we will receive these along with the ordering information. As soon as we do receive the proofs they will be sent home with each child and I will let you know via our web page and Facebook page. Sorry for the delay but all we can do is wait.
For our Mid Term Experience we are going to be celebrating Matariki through the arts. Next week - Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, from 10.00am to 12.30pm, students will be moving around the school experiencing the different forms of art being taught by each teacher, all with the theme of Matariki.
