FEEDBACK FROM OUR WHĀNAU HUI:

We gathered some great feedback from our Māori whānau last week. Here are some of the messages we heard:

KEEP

  • providing more learning opportunities in Te Ao Māori

  • using Te Reo Maori in the classroom

  • being open with us about our kids’ learning

  • developing teacher capability in Te Reo Māori

STOP

  • being fearful of change in case you get it wrong

  • saying tamariki names and place names incorrectly

START

  • kapa haka (we heard this strongly!)

  • whānau rep on the Board

  • termly whānau hui

  • recognise that even small steps/changes make a big difference

  • a Māori enrichment class

These were fed back to the Board too as part of our Strategic Planning (see page 2). Ngā mihi whānau!
