HEALTH CURRICULUM REVIEW

All schools must consult with their communities with regards to the teaching of the Health/Hauora Curriculum at least once every two years.

Through consultation, school boards are required to produce a written statement about how the school will implement health education, for the community to understand and agree to. As per the legislation, schools are required to:

• inform the school community about the content of the health education components of the curriculum

• consult with members of the school community regarding the way in which the

school should implement health education

• describe, in broad terms, the health education needs of the school’s students.

We will be sending home a separate notice with further information and an opportunity for you to offer feedback around this curriculum area.
