Our New Deputy Principal

It is with great pleasure that I let you know that our new Deputy Principal will be Nigel Tongs.

There was a large field of applicants from which the Appointments Panel selected three to interview. All three were capable experienced educators. All three interviewed well and gave the panel much to think about.

Nigel has been on our staff for more than seven years. He has played a significant role in many aspects of school life. He has taught in the senior school all of the time he has been with us. Students enjoy being in his

class. They always learn interesting things and they grow and develop many, many skills.

He has had responsibility for music, including leading the choir and kapa haka groups. He has taught students to play various musical instruments. He has been the producer of our last three school productions. He has led the staff as teacher in charge of various curriculum areas and has always been willing and supportive of all staff members. He has led the Chess Club and the Lego Club.

Importantly, Nigel has a calm, considered manner. He has held school leadership positions before. Indeed he has been a school principal. He knows Linton Camp School inside out.

We are very fortunate to have Nigel on our staff and now in this important leadership role.
